First graders have been exploring the rock cycle and learning about the three types of rocks. They finished up by making igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock! Fun and yummy!
They crushed their own sediments to make sedimentary rock. They used heat, pressure, and time to make metamorphic rock. They also observed how molten rock (melted chocolate) hardened and turned into igneous rock.
